12 Tips to Avoid loosing Money on Fuel
While carpooling, walking, and public transportation can take the sting out of frequent fuel fill-ups, sometimes we can’t get out of having to drive our cars. The tips below will help you get the best fuel economy when driving is a must:
1. Clean out your car! We know keeping it clean is a good habit, but it also saves you money. Unneeded items add weight to your car, and extra weight takes extra fuel to move. Get everything out that doesn’t need to go with you (baggage, spare tyre, toolbox from last year). It’s 2 for 1: you get a clean, clutter-free car that is more fuel efficient!
2. Roll up your windows. Open windows at higher speeds create more drag, making your car use more fuel to drive the same speed. Use AC when driving faster, and keep the windows up. Turn off the AC and roll down the windows when driving at slow speeds around town or idling at intersections.
3. Don’t idle your car.
4. Check your tire inflation once a month. Inflate to the number found in your car (on the inside of the driver’s door or in your owner’s manual), NOT to the numbers printed on your tires – those are the maximums the tires can handle, not the optimal for your car! Underinflated tires not only lower gas mileage and shorten the tires’ lifespan, but are dangerous as well. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, underinflated tires can cause tread separation and blowouts.
5. Remove extras on the outside of your car. Anything not being used needs to come off: luggage rack, ski rack, bike rack (and bike!).
6. Drive consistently. Driving smoothly without slamming on the brakes and quick acceleration will give you the best mileage.
7. Use cruise control. On flat roads, use the cruise. In the hills, skip it and let the natural momentum down the hill help propel you back up.
8. Drive a more fuel efficient vehicle. When it’s time to purchase your next vehicle, make sure fuel economy helps make your decision.
9. Plan your driving route ahead of time so you don’t retrace your route.
10. Switch from flags to magnets. Don’t put flags on your car- they create more drag. Opt for a magnetic ribbon instead to show your patriotism!
11. Only fill your tank half full. Gasoline weighs approximately 6 pounds per gallon. So filling a 20 gallon tank only halfway = 60 extra pounds you’re not paying to drive around!
12. Remove the snow and ice, since they add extra weight to your vehicle. Snow can weigh up to 62 pounds per cubic foot!

Keep your dog healthy from cough or wheezing
What’s that noise your dog is making? Why, it’s a cough, of course. Dog cough for so many reasons. It can be because your dog drank it’s water a bit too fast – or it could be the first sign of serious problems of the heart or lungs. Here are some of the common causes
Infectious diseases: Infectious tracheobronchitis (kennel cough), pneumonia due to distemper, parainfluenza, adenovirus-1 or adenovirus-2 infection with secondary bacterial infection, coccidioidomycosis (fungal infection), or chronic bronchitis.
Parasites/Parasite-borne diseases: Roundworms, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, ehrlichiosis, tick paralysis, or heartworms.
Irritation/Inflammation: Smoke inhalation, exposure to chemical fumes or noxious vapors (tracheitis), or aspiration of food.
Foreign bodies: In trachea or bronchi.
Allergies: Allergic pneumonitis (inflammation of the lungs) due to heartworms or infections (fungal or bacterial).
Tumors: In the larynx, trachea, and lungs.
Congenital abnormality: Tracheal collapse, laryngeal deformity, laryngeal paralysis, or megaesophagus (enlargement of the lower part of the esophagus, a condition that frequently leads to aspiration pneumonia).
Toxicity: Lead, causing megaesophagus.
Non-infectious/Acquired disease: Heart disease, myasthenia gravis, or polymyositis.
Miscellaneous disorders: Dysautonomia (abnormal function of the autonomic nervous system), which can cause megaesophagus.
Endocrine disorders: Hypoadrenocorticism (Addison’s disease).
Autoimmune disease: Systemic lupus erythematosis, which can cause megaesophagus.
What to do: Coughing without other signs of illness is not usually an emergency. Call your veterinarian during regular office hours to make an appointment for diagnosis and treatment. Coughing that is accompanied by signs of illness may or may not be an emergency, depending on the duration, severity, and the other signs. Contact your veterinarian or emergency clinic immediately for specific advice about your dog’s situation.
5 effective ways to hide and totally remove the love bite (hickey)
Mom gonna be at home anytime and you don’t have time to cover it up. Chances are, you are frantically searching the Internet in hopes of discovering a way to hide that hickey from your neck. Lucky for you, you have come to the right place.
Do Immediately!
1) Apply an icepack to the hickey. Do this as soon as possible after receiving the hickey :p. You can wrap some ice in a towel, use a pre-frozen ice pack, or put a spoon in the freezer for a few minutes. Gently hold the cold compress to the skin for several minutes (up to 20 minutes, if it doesn’t feel too uncomfortable), remove the compress for several minutes, and then apply it again. A hickey is simply a bruise and like any other bruise, ice will help to reduce the swelling and control the color. Do not keep the ice or cold compress on your body for any longer than twenty (20) minutes at a time
2) What about the toothbrush or comb method. Many people swear by it, but it’s important to remember that a hickey is a bruise, and most bruises just take time to disappear, so don’t expect a miracle.
Lightly brush the hickey and the area around it with a stiff-bristled toothbrush or a comb. Doing this breaks up the blood clot and gets circulation going again. Wait about 15 minutes. The redness and swelling will spread, but will be less obvious after about 15 minutes.
Apply a cold compress, as above.
3) Conceal the hickey with makeup, turtleneck, a collared shirt or blouse, or a scarf (appropriate for the weather of course), around your neck. If you have long hair, style it so that it hangs down over the hickey. Frequently check the positioning of your shirt or your hair to make sure the hickey is still covered.
4) Eat healthy foods. A healthy diet can help any bruise heal more quickly. Increase your intake of vitamin P (also called bioflavonoids) and Vitamin K cream (aloe vera and vitamin E don’t hurt either)
5) Apply heat to a hickey that lasts more than a couple days. Saturate a washcloth in hot water, wring it out, and hold it to your skin for several minutes. Reheat the washcloth with more water as necessary.
What is birthmark and how to remove it
Birthmark occurs on child birth is comprises in a wide range of both vascular and skin pigmentation. It can be on any parts of the body, from face to toe and it maybe very visible sometime. For some peoples it can be very uncomfortable and lower their self esteem. It is better to treat it in early age but for those who never had the chances to do so? It’s not the end of the world.
Two commons birthmarks
- Port-wine stains (strawberry marks):- These irregularly shaped patches range in color from light pink to red to dark red-violet and may darken as the age goes up. It usually spotted on the face and neck. The texture can change gradually from smooth to thickened and pebbled
- Coffee-and-cream birthmarks: – The mark color is brown and composed of melanin (skin pigment). They do not fade away.
It is just a mark, what’s the big deal?
If your childbirth has a port-wine stain birthmark, please refer to the physician as soon as possible as these marks may associated with underlying abnormalities of the brain and the eye.
Way to remove these birthmarks
High-energy pulsed lasers emit powerful pulses of energy. It will lighten the targeted area to create fairer tone. Treatment length is depending on size of the birthmark, it may take a few minutes to an hour. Multiple treatments are generally necessary to significantly lighten or remove vascular birthmarks.
Both port-wine stains and a coffee-and-cream birthmark is best treated during early of age. The port-wine stain probably needs more than one treatment depending on the placement, size and color of the mark. However the coffee-and-cream birthmark is usually the easiest to remove but 40 to 50 percent of coffee-and-cream birthmarks may reappear after successful removal.
Scared of laser treatment?
Don’t worry because laser treatment is not a major operation that can cause your life. Maybe in the past, there are some reports that the patient had a discomfort feeling during the laser treatment. But with today’s technology, there are a new contact cooling devices and dynamic cooling devices, which spray cold liquid onto the skin before the laser impact that will greatly reduced the discomfort associated with the laser treatment.
So all of you who had birthmark and want to remove it, act fast and don’t wait any longer. The longer you wait, the harder the procedures to remove it. My opinion, please contact any physicians before you go that treatment, consult with them what is the best for you all. Hope we can bring out the beauty out of yourself.
4 Healthy Ways to Remove Wrinkles from our face
As you age wrinkles settle on your skin. This is nature. Your skin would have a tendency to loosen and show up wrinkles all over. That is quite simply a fact of life.
Women worry about this to a greater extent than men. The wrinkles tend to make people look older with age. But the rate at which this aging process occurs, both visibly and physiologically, is something that we have the ability to control. Below are the stunning list for your to practical at your safely and cost effective
1) Drink Plenty of Water
One of the best natural remedies to soften wrinkles on the face is to drink plenty of water. It is the least costly yet most effective thing a person can do to improve the skin
2) Eat Healthily
A diet with plenty of whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables, and the use of healthy oils (such as olive oil) may protect against oxidative stress in the skin.
In fact, a 2001 study reported that people over 70 years old had fewer wrinkles if they ate such foods. Diet played a role in improving skin regardless of whether the people in the study smoked or lived in sunny countries. Benefits from these foods may be due to high levels of antioxidants found in them. Dr. Nicholas Perricone, author of The Wrinkle Cure, published in 2001, suggests a diet and products that can allegedly slow, or even reverse, the visible aging process. Some of his most notable recommendations are a diet high in salmon (primarily for its omega-3 fatty acids), supplementation of alpha lipoic acid, and topical application of vitamin C ester and DMAE.
3) Facial Massages
Regular facial massages help to keep elasticity in the skin and keep wrinkles and fine lines at bay. Massage does this by relaxing the muscles and by stimulating the blood vessels under the skin. Here a video on how you can do it your self
4) Avocados
This is a great way to give your skin a quick pick-me-up. Simply spread some avocado slices or pulp across the face, particularly on any very dry parts. The oil within the fruit should activate increased oil production within the skin, giving you a softer, younger look.
Other natural remedies that are also considered to help reduce wrinkles include grapes, cucumber, guava and ivy gourd (a hard, fleshy fruit related to marrows and cucumbers).
The most important guideline to stay away from the skin wrinkles is to avoid the exposure of your skin to the sun. UV rays my harm your skin. Make sure that you apply sun screen lotions before you move out of your house. Ensure that you keep the whole of your body covered to the maximum possible extent. 9umx5wvt7q
How to remove a tick?

Adult deer tick
Having a tick is almost a common problem to pets and even to the owner. What we do know is, a tick bite can cause itchy and this makes it uncomfortable. The worst part we know, if we got tick problems, we don’t feel any embarrass anymore to scratch it in front of public. Well I do.
For those who don’t know what a thick is, here is the definition of it.
Ticks are blood-feeding parasites that are often found in tall grass and shrubs where they will wait to attach to a passing host. A tick will attach itself to its host by inserting its chelicerae (cutting mandibles) and hypostome (feeding tube) into the skin. The hypostome is covered with recurved teeth and serves as an anchor.
From wikipedia.org
What we don’t know:
- What this tiny thing can harm us?When involve in blood this tiny little insect can cause you a lot of disease such as Lyme disease, Q fever, Colorado tick fever, tularemia, tick-borne relapsing fever, babesiosis, ehrlichiosis and Tick-borne meningoencephalitis, as well as anaplasmosis in cattle and canine jaundice. Doesn’t it sound bad already?
Today we heard a lot about a lot of new disease spread like H1n1 flue, the tick also can spread this kind of disease if we do not react fast. Believe me it will.
- How the tick got into us?You don’t have to worry about this because physical contact is the only method of transportation for ticks. It won’t jump or fly, although they may drop from their perch and fall onto a host.
How to remove a tick?
Most of us usually do is squeeze it right on our skin to kill it and this method has been used for ages. This is wrong. Didn’t I tell you that this tiny thing is also a source of disease? Please do not squeeze, crush, puncture, or use any other terms with the same meaning to the body of the tick because its fluids may contain bacteria.
There are different method to remove tick from human and pets.
Remove a tick from human
- Use blunt curved tweezers or a thread.
- Grasp the tick as close to the skin surface as possible and pull upward with a steady, even pressure.
- Do not twist or jerk the tick because this may cause the mouth parts to detach and remain in the skin.
- You should pull firmly enough to lift up the skin.
- Hold this tension for 3 to 4 minutes and the tick will back out.
- Immediately dispose of the tick. If you have any concerns, put the tick in a plastic bag and freeze it. If you get sick you can take the dead tick with you when you see your provider. (I never do that, no I’m not a freak.
) - Immediately wash your hands and the affected area with soap and water.
Guide from about.com
Why we do that? For girls out there, we don’t want any scar on your precious skin, right guy?
Remove a tick from pet
This might sound funny, believe me I’m not but it does the job and worth trying.
- Rub the tick in a circular motion and pretend you’re trying to make the tick dizzy.
- Stick with one direction, clockwise for about a minute or so.
- Make sure the body of the tick is moving around.
- The tick actually doesn’t like something about the movement and they crawl out on their own.
